Android Authority has learned of widespread reports that Verizon wireless service is down across the US today.
The outage is affecting the eastern United States. Downdetector, which tracks outages, reported a spike nationwide in outages after noon ET Wednesday, with tens of thousands of reports from across the country. Locations with reported outages include New York City, Chicago, Houston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, Charlotte and Dallas.
You can also go to the Verizon website to check the company's network status; however, this page appears to be experiencing intermittent problems. Mashable reporters were unable to access an updated map at Verizon's website, and instead received the same statement Verizon posted on X previously.
