The United States struck first before Sweden responded to send the game to overtime. With the lights shining the brightest, Quinn Hughes stepped up and scored to give Team USA the overtime win in the quaterfinals.
After waving off the U.S. bench to stay on the ice, Quinn Hughes wheeled around the offensive zone and fired a laser past Jacob Markstrom for the dramatic overtime win. The Americans will now take on Slovakia in the semifinals on Friday.

In the men's cross-country team spring, Ben Ogden and Gus Schumacher surged to silver to deliver the United States its first-ever Olympic medal in the event. Ogden won his second silver as he previously became the first American man to reach an Olympic cross-country podium since 1976.
