Warmer temperatures kept the constant rain after 6 p.m. and rain and snow mix after 9 p.m. from freezing on the ground, but as temperatures drop Wednesday night, icy surfaces could develop.
Winter storm warnings now cover 12 states as forecasters warn of up to 24 inches of snow and wind gusts reaching 75 mph.
