Mark Zuckerberg latest tech billionaire to shun California with ultra-luxe Miami mansion purchase
Mark Zuckerberg is the latest tech titan to splash huge cash on a Florida property as billionaires continue to shun the Golden State, according to a new report. The Meta CEO and his wife Priscilla Chan purchased an estate on Miami’s Indian Creek that likely sold for between $150 million and $200 million,
The seller of the property is reportedly an LLC tied to Peter Cancro, the founder of sandwich chain Jersey Mike’s Subs. Billionaire car dealer Norman Braman and his wife, Irma Braman, live in the home next door; Irma told the news outlet that Zuckerberg had shared plans to move into the dwelling by April. “We’re happy to have him,” she said.
Of these corporate expenditures, only the $14 million in pre-tax security fees and the $2.6 million in personal jet costs would be taxed as income. Thus, $16.6 million at 13.3% yields $2.21 million in state tax savings for Zuckerberg (excluding the new Billionaire Tax Act).
